I really feel like things are improving. Thank goodness. It's been a long haul. Balance is being reached:

Random Colorado Photos.
Paso & San Miguel. Mel's place. Pretty church. Flop house. Jesse drinking from one of the natural springs in town. French fries in the Edge.
Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun.
We could see The Shrine of the Sun from the Zoo and we kept gazing up at it ~ wanting to visit it. So, at the end of our zoo tour, we found out how to get up the mountain to see it. So cool! It was built 1934-1937 from a single stone. The view from the balconies are amazing if you don't have issues with heights.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
John and Jennifer hosted a special little tour of sorts for out of town guests at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. We love zoos, so we were quite excited for this treat. Here are some photos:
The Garden of the Gods.
We took a quick zip through The Garden of the Gods. The cool Ford Edge that we were using had two moon roofs ~ one in the front seat and one in the back, so we were able to see everything very well.
Flight of the Wren.
Wren travels very well. Both to Colorado and for the return flight he was over-tired when we boarded, so he had a bit of a hissy for a few minutes. On the way to Colorado, he slept the entire way. On the way home, he took a little nap and then woke up and enjoyed an on-flight meal, played with his toys, and flirted with all of the pretty/kind ladies sitting around us.

'Twas a Soggy Morn...
... on the harbor of Gig, and all headed downtown to partake in Gig Fest festivities. Wren and I dropped Jesse and Randall off at the parade start point; then we went and parked the car, and walked downtown to find a spot to perch. It was raining, and we got a little wet, but I found a tree for us to stand under while we waited for the parrrrrrade (pirate-themed) to begin.
Wren grew restless and, in time, he was hungry. I fed him and he fell asleep ~ just when the parade began. Luckily, Jesse was on float #17, so I didn't have to wait too, too long for him to cruise by. Then it was time for the trek back up the hill to the car. Once we arrived, Wren awoke ~ quite refreshed ~ to find that he had acquired some parade loot (a pirate rubber duck, a visor, and a pinwheel). Lucky boy.

Hot Wings.
Last week we hit the 80F mark. No breeze. Pretty warm for our area. So, we decided that it would be a good time for Wren to learn how to cool off. It has been waaaaay warmer since then (90s), but I've been busy with work so we've not been able to revisit his swimmin' hole.
You'll notice he's wearing his cool Wee Waves sun hat and swim trunks... with built in SPF50! Thanks, Grammy Pam! :-)
Oh, and he constantly sits (and lays) with his ankles crossed these days. Too funny!

Hmm...
I was in Wren's room putting his clean clothes away when I heard a rustling outside his window. I had hoped to spot some cute little birdies... and I did. They were all along the ground. The "bird" house revealed a big gray hiney pointed in my direction. When I tapped on the window, the culprit revealed himself. At least he was sharing... even if he didn't know it. Messy squirrel.
