Birdie Milestone.

Wren has officially been out longer than he was in. He is nearing 10 months old and he's coming along quite nicely. Here are some of his latest feats:
  • His newest word is "goggie" (doggie). Am I surprised? No.
  • He will sit and play ball for quite a while... rolling and even throwing it back and forth.
  • He sometimes does closed mouth kisses now, with his little bottom lip protruding.
  • I don't know when he will ever walk because any time standing is spent dancing. No joke. Wren IS a dancing machine. Ergo, balance is a little tricky to achieve when you are bobbing, shaking, and grooving. I love it, though, and encourage the dance. In the end, he will have phenomenal balance!
  • His fine motor skills are AMAZING!
  • His favorite books are "Five Little Pumpkins" and "Mr. Brown Can Moo."
  • He eats almost anything that I fix for him... he still doesn't like carrots, though.
  • He is VERY vocal and has been making lots of new, loud, lovely sounds.
  • He is very rough-and-tumble and not very cautious physically. We will need to work on this. He literally throws his body into everything that he does.
  • I think there might be a little bit of green creeping into the center of his eyes. Maybe.
  • He wears 18 to 24 month clothing.
  • It takes a long time to get all of his wiggles out before any period of rest.
  • He still loves bath time and pool time. He kicks and splashes like you would not believe.
  • He claps his feet.
  • He's a really nice little fella.

Back to Good.

After a particularly busy June and July (with fun visitors, trips, temps, and teeth), we seem to be finding our way back to our happy place. Temps have balanced out and are in the mid 70s as they are supposed to be. Wren is growing a couple of new teeth on the top, but has not yet progressed to a particularly fussy stage. We are getting him back onto his nap schedule. I am going to work on setting up some play dates for him because he really enjoys other little peeps. Daisy seems settled, and her coat is now sap free. We recently found a new favorite coastal hangout (to add to, not replace, our old favorite coast) ~ and this one is only a little over an hour away. Mama is happy. Da-dad is happy. It's a mellow scene here.
