A.. B.. C.. D.. E.. F.. G.. ... H.. I.. J.. K.. LMNOP.. ... Q.. R.. S.. ... T.. U.. V.. ... W.. X.. ... Y and Z.
Jesse's Version of the ABC Song:
A.. B.. C.. D.. E.. F.. G.. ... H.. I.. J.. K.. LMNOP.. ... Q.. R.. S.. T.. U and V.. ... W... X... Y... Z.
I have NO idea where on earth Jesse picked up this version, but he swears by it. In fact, he thinks my version (the correct version) doesn't make any sense. Ergo, we had to come to a truce.
Our Compromise (what we're teaching Wren):
A.. B.. C.. D.. E.. F.. G.. ... H.. I.. J.. K.. LMNOP.. ... Q.. R.. S.. ... T.. U.. V.. ... W.. X.. ... Y.... Z.
We removed the 'and' all together and replaced it with a longer pause. I just hope the other children in kindergarten don't give him a hard time about it. They probably won't. In fact, they'll think he's super cool and they'll all start singing it the Wren way. I mean, if you were a little kid wouldn't you trust the cool kid that shows up to school with a leather strap around his text books... especially when all the others are sporting SpongeBob SquarePants backpacks full of crayons and glue sticks? Even in spite of what the teacher may say? Yeah, I think so too.
